Russell

I bet Russ didn't see this one coming...I wrote an update on him too. In addition to what he's been up to lately, I also included a few trivia facts about him that might interest you: 1. Russ rode 100 miles on Saturday as part of his training for the Seattle to Portland bike ride next month. Wow! The ride to Portland is 204 miles, but he says he now feels ready for it. 2. Russ just finished his first year working at the UW. It's been a great year filled with many new opportunities apart from just his research. He's had a lot more leadership opportunities than he did at Utah, and he's really enjoyed it. His research in gene therapies is pretty cutting edge, exciting stuff. 3. Russ not only knows how to use all of the fancy lab equipment to do the complicated chemistry and biological research, but he also knows how to fix most of it too. He will always be the fix-it man. 4. Russ watches sports in silence. Good thing I can talk smack to fill the silence. 5. Russ uses Pledge like Mr. Portokalos uses Windex. It really is quite amazing stuff....although I had to make a rule that Russ is not allowed to spray the girls. :)

6. Russ is pretty popular at our house. There is a lot of excited screaming and running every evening when we hear the front door unlock. I think our entire building (and the building across the driveway) knows when Russ gets home from work.

7. Russ spends a lot of time working as the ward mission leader at church. It means lots of meetings and evenings spent doing splits with the missionaries. We miss him while he's gone, but we have been blessed for his service.

8. Russ loves to skip rocks.
