How was your week?

Here are some highlights from our week: Lauren was doing somersaults on the couch while drinking milk. Ends up that's a good way to get milk to shoot out your nose. One morning while I was out running, Russ was in the shower, and Lauren was still asleep, Ella decided to be "helpful." She washed the toilet paper off in the bathroom sink. Read it again if you need to, but that is what she was doing. By the time Russ realized it was too quiet and poked his head out of the shower, the water was gushing over the sink onto the bathroom floor. Ella loves to jump. Sunday she decided to jump OVER the diaper bag...during Sacrament Meeting...while the diaper bag was on the pew. It resulted in a belly flop on the diaper bag. Luckily both Russ and I caught her before she tumbled to the floor. I have found the following items in said locations this week: LJ's underwear sitting in the cupboard with our canned goods; Ella's pajamas in the kitchen sink; a different set of Ella's pajamas tucked behind the pizza stone; squash rinds in the toaster; mascara in the laundry; dirty dishes in the utensil drawer; and keys in the front door lock (after spending the night there). I'll take credit for the last one, but Ella gets the rest.

After starting the washing machine with all our WHITE clothes in it, I heard a strange knocking sound. I opened the door and found a bottle of sunscreen and a bottle of lotion. What I did NOT find was the large brown crayon that melted all over the entire load. Sorting the laundry takes on a new meaning.

Father's Day: Lauren handed Russ a beautifully wrapped present and said, "Here, Dad. Open your watch." I told Lauren to draw a Father's Day picture of Russ doing his favorite thing. She drew a picture of him eating. :) When I asked what he was eating she said "Pasta and vegetables." Good news: Russ's exaggerated enthusiasm for vegetables has finally made an impression on Lauren! Bad news: She still won't eat the green things. Lauren: "Oh, Mom! There's an ant in the house! Oh...never mind. Ella stepped on it. Good job, baby!" Mom to Ella: "Please go put the toothbrushes away." A bit later I found said toothbrushes in the garbage can. Ella learned to chew gum this week. I liked it better when she just swallowed it because now I find it in all sorts of interesting places. Hope you had a nice week too.

Let me add that I dropped 2 gallons of milk on the kitchen floor and both containers split open. Sigh.
