Lauren loves her dance class! It shows when we sing together at bedtime. She usually performs a solo of “I am a Child of God” complete with all the new dance moves she learned that week.
Lauren recently overcame a fear of tube slides. She was terrified of sliding down it, but thought it would be okay to climb up it. Once she climbed up, she figured there was nothing scary about it after all.
I’ve been talking to the girls in Spanish lately. My efforts paid off last week when I heard Lauren use her first Spanish word on Ella: “No gritas!” (Don’t yell!)
We had guests over for dinner the other night, and I overheard Lauren in the background telling Ella, “Say ‘rojo!’ Say ‘rojo!’ It’s daddy’s favorite color. Say ‘rojo!’ Good baby.”
Also during the above dinner, I caught Lauren feeding her dinner to Ella. Sometimes I have to remind Lauren that I’m the Mom around here.
Lauren has many nicknames for her sister. My favorite is Ella Miss Bella. When Lauren is upset with Ella, she calls her "Ella Mae Nor" (instead of Eleanor Mae) which just makes me laugh.
As we drove down the Olympic Mountains last weekend, Lauren asked me, “Mom, how do I make it louder?” I wasn’t sure what she was talking about, and while I was trying to figure it out, Lauren gave a big yawn and then said, “Oh! Now it’s louder! Thanks, Mom.” Ha! Her ears were plugged.
Lauren loves to vacuum. We have a really cool hand held vacuum that she uses to clean up after Ella all the time. I appreciate the help, but I've learned to check the canister carefully before I dump it blindly into the trash.
A little known fact about Lauren is that she is a TALKER. She may be a bit shy but once she starts going, she can go for a while. I'm told that Lauren answered a question in primary and ended up giving a nice summary of the entire gospel.
Some of Lauren's favorite topics of conversation are: Jonah and the whale, the firemen driving Mommy to the hospital in a firetruck to have a baby, Lauren being born in a stable during a snowstorm, the death of her cat, the rules of being in time out, and anything else her creative little mind can come up with.

Ahhhh, I miss her! I'm gonna have to ask her to tell me the story of her being born in a stable in a snowstorm next time I see her. ;)
She's growing up too fast! I'm excited to see her (and you!) during our Skype FHE.
Oh, that had me laughing! So cute! I'm glad you got all of that recorded.
PS--What a great idea: Skype FHE. Hmm.
I love blogs! So glad that you have one to share with us all the cute things your girls say & do! I'm going to have to find out more about your Skype FHE...sounds like such a fun idea.
Thanks for taking the time to write so much about your girls. It helps grandma to feel like she is part of their lives! Love you!
