Journal Moment

I found a quiet moment this morning to sit and journal a bit about the last few days. This is a rare moment because Lauren's usually up first on the weekends, and I don't get this opportunity. Today I get to sit here in front of the window and watch the sun rise. This is my favorite time of day...especially in spring and summer. If it were a little warmer, I'd take the laptop on the front porch. Maybe next week... Lauren has been sick the last few days. Her symptoms haven't been that bad, but she's has a very persistent fever. She's lost her appetite and has been lethargic. She likes to moan a lot too. I can't blame her. I like to moan a lot when I feel crummy. She didn't sleep much Friday night. Russ was up with her most of the night and said she seemed to be feeling okay, but she just wasn't interested in sleep. I could hear her playing with her toys, singing, and talking. She's had about 3 night like this in her lifetime. It's like her body catches up every 4-5 months and she can go 24 hours with only a couple of cat naps. It's very strange. I guess with her cold this time it finally caught up to her last night. She slept the entire night (and is still sleeping soundly). Russ got up with me, but I think he found his way back to bed (he deserves it after putting in an all-nighter with Lauren on Friday). It feels good to know we were all able to sleep well last night, and it's a good indication that Lauren's on the mend. As a parent, these moments are priceless.
