STITCHES!

My first child to get stitches. Eek!

They recently "paved" the roads in our neighborhood by painting a layer of tar on the old roads and then dumping loads of gravel on top of it.  Not sure why....but when there are no sidewalks in your neighborhood, it makes for a treacherous walk to the park.

As LJ found out.
She was pulling the other girls in the wagon, and her feet went our from under her.
Her hands were behind her back so her chin caught the full brunt of the fall.

Luckily her pediatrician's office let her come in to do the stitches there (saving us a trip to the Emergency Room).  LJ was terrified about what they were going to do. But just as they were leading her into the exam room, her old preschool teacher, Ms. Sarah appeared!  LJ jumped right into her arms for comfort.  It was really sweet.  Apparently Ms. Sarah now works at the pediatrician's office.  It was a tender mercy to see her there.  She took good care of us during the whole ordeal....and Dr. Bowe did a phenomenal job with the stitches.
