Hiking

We do a lot of hiking as a family. Sometimes people ask me if it's hard with the little kids. I say, "No way, they do just fine:"

Russ doesn't usually carry both of them...but I had to grab a picture of it when he did (it only lasted a few minutes to appease LJ). This picture was taken while we were hiking the Coal Creek trail. It was about 3 miles one way. I was very proud of Lauren because she actually hiked the 3 miles on her own. On the way back, I carried Ella in the backpack and LJ rode on Russ's shoulders. We were in a hurry to get back for a ward activity so we thought it would go faster that way. It was a gorgeous hike...I forgot my camera or there would be many more photos. These were taken with my phone. It didn't rain on us while we hiked, but I think it rained the entire week before because there was tons of mud (the girls' favorite kind).
