Little Sweetheart

We bought some Halloween candy yesterday at the store. Today, Lauren asked me if she could have a pack of smarties. Since she had eaten her zucchini quesadilla for lunch, I told her that would be okay. As I pulled the candy from its secret hiding spot, Lauren asked, "Mama, is that were you put it so that Ella can't get it?" My response: "Yeah. And Daddy too. If Daddy sees it, he'll eat it all gone." I was kidding, but I sometimes forget how literal almost-three-year-olds take things. A few minutes later, Lauren brought me this handful of candy:
She asked, "Mommy where can I put this so Daddy can have some candy when he gets home?" My little sweetheart saved some candy for Dad because she thought I wouldn't let him have any.
